Tire options for LR3 SE, 18" rims

Has anyone tried the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo in size 275/65/18? Tirerack has them, They're only 32", versus 32.6" for the 265/70/18. So, should they fit? Anyone has them and they do fit? Thanks

As I posted earlier I've had the 265/70/18 Revos on my LR3 and they rubbed badly. I now have the Nitto's and after driving them for several weeks I can report very little rubbing, but they do rub on occasion. They don't rub much with turning, so much as successive dips. So it's not the width of the tire but the diameter (31.4 inches). I wouldn't think that you could run anything bigger on the LR3's. That's just speaking from my experience. I will say that while I had the Revos, I did like them. They were a little "soft" on cornering and a little "floaty" on the highway, but overall a good tire. Very quiet for an A/T. I've had "balance" issues with the Nittos. I would say the Nittos are better in the sand, but the Revos were much better (quieter, smoother ride) on the highway. Just my two cents.

Seems a pretty fair comparison to me. My Nitto's were tricky to balance also. You need to have them Road Force Balanced. That will do the trick.

Ran the Nitto's this week in Moab, they did pretty good on the slickrock

i actually ordered Goodyear Silent Armour Wranglers, there the closest thing to MTr's since the 18in Mtr's don't exist in the USA. They make a 265/60 R18 and R19 in the SA's . They are kevlar walled so i'm very excited on getting them. Now only if ARB came out with a front locker.

Hey all, I'm new to this forum and have been on the hunt for new tires like everybody
else. Was checking out the Yokohama web site and they are supposedly coming
out with some new sizes to fit our rides. Two sizes caught my eye, they were
275/60-18 & 265/60-18. Problem is that they don't expect availability until first
quarter of 07. Oh yea they are the Geolander A/T-S tire. So If the Wrangler Silent Armours never show. Maybe (wishful thinking) these tires will. Also I was thinking the 275/60's might be an alternative to Nitto since you prbably would'nt have to air down the spare to fit in the spare tire compartment. Any opinions?

Just drove to Las Vegas last week on the Nittos (actually the mountains about 30mi. outside Vegas). Barely noticed the increased noise on a 4 hour solo drive and, as always, great on the trail. Of course Old & In the Way blasting bluegrass out of the CD player masked any road noise. ;-)

Just an FYI update. I put Michelin Cross Terrains on in the fall. We are already half through winter here in Michigan and got our first couple inches of snow. I think I've already noted that they are much smoother and better wearing than the HPs, now I can report that they are much better in the snow as well. They certainly aren't snow tires or anything, but if the HPs were a 1, these at least rate a 5 out of 10. Also, the 275 size for some reason has a much different and nicer looking tread pattern than whatever size it is they use on Explorers. It's a reasonable option for those that want to keep the 30" diameter.

Good news and thanks. As soon as the GY's are gone I'll go with the bigger shoes.

I don't what it is with GY the past couple of years. Every time I end up with a set I think they are just alright and I'm anxious to get something else.

I've got a set of GY high performance runflats on a car and I can't wait for them to wear out. Just wooden crappy tires.

Depending on how the trade goes we may have an HSE this week. I have already told the dealer we want to swap out the rims for 18's so we can have better options for an AT tire.

Will these tires rub all that bad on road/ off road?

definition off road: MOAB: hells revenge, fins n things type trails.
