Options for cracked center console lid

I'm surprised there isn't more chatter about on this. I'm on my second center console lid. The first one had a broken latch when I bought the vehicle. Replaced it with one from a junk yard. The replacement lasted a good 7-8 years but now the vinyl has cracked. I'm debating selling my rig and want to address as many of these little defects as I can (cost-effectively).

eBay has used ones for sale but generally more than I want to pay to solve this problem. I also see "skins" sold on the cheap for kind of a DIY reupholster job. Any experiences with the latter? What few reviews I can find are mixed, at best.
