I've found prices for parts to vary quite a bit from dealer to dealer. Might be worth contacting a few that are within a days drive from your location.
I found this to be extremely true when I was first investigating what it'd run to get the timing chains on my '16 LR4 done. I called 6 Dealerships...

Hunt Valley MD: "Bring the car here, pay us $500 and then we'll then give you an estimate" (I asked if they could give me just a High cost and a Low cost estimate, they refused)
Tyson's Corner VA: "$16,000" (when asked, they refused to give me a breakdown of parts vs labor)
Alexandria VA: "$5,500 for parts, $6,500 for labor"
Chantilly VA: "$3,500 for parts, $9,000 for labor"
Charleston WV: "We'll call you back" (They did not call me back)
Pittsburgh PA: "We'll call you back" (They did not call me back)

@q5sys based on that list of dealerships I've had a good experience with checkered flag JLR in VA Beach for parts. I don't live in the area so I can't comment on the service side of things.

I don't mind paying a fair price for things. I'm not looking to get the cheapest price, but I'm also not looking to get ripped off. If I can go to the parts counter and get told around $2000, I dont expect the Service Manager to tell me 15 minutes later that parts are going to cost $5000. When I put my VIN into Topix I get that renewing the timing chains is a 13.4 hour job, and I know that the dealer labor rate is $185 an hour... If I round both of those up for some padding... say 15h and $200 p/h, that puts labor at $3000. So low end I'd expect around $5000 for the job, with an understanding that if other things are found that need to be fixed, that price will go up. I'm fine with that, but when a service manager gives me an estimate that's $11000 over what I estimate the job to be and refuses to give any breakdown, I get a little frustrated. It feels like im being told "We dont want to work on our cars."

I've worked as a mechanic before, so I get it, there's a lot of unknowns when you're estimating a job and once you get into a job you can find other things that need to be done. Also, "Customer States" can be one of the biggest jokes out there. So what I expect would be to be told a range of prices. Parts labor for just the basic timing chain job, and then a higher figure if other things need to be done as well (VVTs, injectors, etc), with a rough breakdown of the price ranges based on what extra might need to be done.

When I went to Land Rover of Las Vegas, they quoted me $3k to do the chain. Then I started wondering if all the Land Rovers in their service lot (it is HUGE) were for held for ransom payments.
