Tires are also part of the gas mileage rating when the vehicle is sold, so some times they choose a tire to help boost that rating even though they aren't not purposed for the vehicle. The Count is also on to something with the sales pitch of quiet ride" The dealer wants it off the lot.

We got Nokian all-weather on both cars and the improved handling on icy/snow packed roads was very noticeable.

a snow rated tire will always do better in that application than not......my previous jeep had goodyear fortera hl and the usual slick spots aren't as slick in my lr4.....some of it could be vehicle and weight, but def seems like these conti's don't break traction as fast on a hard corner as my fortera hl's.......it would be nice if there was something a little more aggressive than whats on tirerack but not full blown noisy full offroad tire.......
