cross over pipe questions

1. What sort of symptoms would you expect that require a cross over pipe replacement? I have had oil cooler and water pump replaced over the last few years on my 2013 (60k miles) so estimating what the next issue could be and seems cross over pipes are pretty common too.

Just trying to understand early indications and temporary remediation if it happens on an out of town trip.

2. Would any body know the rough effort involved for a professional (hours of work) so I can estimate what mechanic would charge. Better if you already know what it may have cost you.

There aren't many symptoms. They catastrophically fail on these vehicles and usually take the engine with them when they go...

I would recommend having it replaced. There is an updated part.

As for how much it costs, mine was done under warranty so I'm not 100% sure but I believe it should run you anywhere from $1000-1500 on the V8.
