I beg your pardon, I wrongfully interpreted your response as “significantly detrimental, if not life threatening to the engine”. And the jury is out on that by most engineers in the business.

As as I mentioned, its not about saving the money on fuel to me. Nonetheless, continue as you do. And I will continue using it.

What is the name of the ebay seller? Those links aren't working for me. I've run for 3 years with my auxillary battery disconnected, but I've always contemplated getting a new battery to get rid of the light. I wish there was a way to change the default to "off" or that it would remember the last selection for off/on.

Its commonly -20 here now.
In the winter, I run both heaters, concurrently with the A/C on. I like my seat heater and the front and rear defoggers. And I'm always listening to some genre of music. Thats a lot of electrical drain.
Of interest, at a stop light, the engine shutoff occurs, nearly immediately. The electrical systems keep working. The engine starts just seconds before the light turns green. I have no issue with it.

The place I’ve bought from twice is autospares.eu. They have two links - one in Euros and one in British pounds, each with slightly different shipping options. Not sure which is best. Either way, prices have gone up from what they used to be: https://order.ebay.com/ord/show?orderId=05-12628-27598&purchaseOrderId=05-1262-827597#/

There is now this alternative on Amazon as well. No idea of the quality: https://www.amazon.com/AUX-LR-AUXILARY-BATTERY-RANGE-ROVER/dp/B0CXG1HGX9/ref=sr_1_1?crid=AMWS6L1SNTTD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ZH1DrZOymsuQnlaIfJp1SCJJopwPyG9Ei5hQII3G4bR6s2VJ7NNB2iHtgzau4hswDC2AMi1Qwyzrkl4vhXDEDT9x3Lf0wMHl9POKTT8GBd7OaYEzRtSUaiImj4HeXQX0b3RK-nutqMW40tOCBSVoaOavwNCtaFOhJ6Zw5umppspKo5Ld4dCxr3fLxvvDjAOSja7aslYOWJqfzktfCAVQUIm_NBJwPo7qyXixjxLUysrJVEzNVthfSOe3wJM8n1z7DIx85teT0nEqZPnHxAfsyEVN43NgGv_1nsS2F-HZGqhK3XoShkGqby0XXhPEVWPUr5QGzw0g3qn0bsU-WOVRoLIdsWnzBBQPXvEPwxaDzVjiv0c4nus1b0RI-x1bju5BDfWrO0oakiObGsq7xK_JRaikYDzij-yiJEfZEV72AGM.eUdDJ7SbyY0wZzATyFmAAyd0F-QBCq8kCEi4xPABMf8&dib_tag=se&keywords=Lr+aux+battery&qid=1741469132&sprefix=lr+aux+battery+,aps,207&sr=8-1

It’s the aux, and many of us don’t actually use it for anything but keeping the light off. i’ll take whatever ebay is selling over getting ripped off to the tune off 350 or 400 for the exide stateside.

with the prices increasing, the other option (which i’ll do next time) is changing the terminals and using a regular motosports battery.

New to my LR4 and it came with the ECO light on and a dead battery. Obtained a much cheaper one via Amazon and installed it. Light is now off, and ECO mode doesn't engage (Yea). I'm not resetting it. I was informned it would do so on its own but so far it hasn't. It has to go in the shop tomorrow for other codes/issue(s) so perhaps it will finally reset on its own, or the shop will when they see it needs to be done during their scanning & testing.

My wife's CADDY has Auto Stop function, and there are several "bypass" cable options to keep it off or at least retain the memory from last setting. If I can't find one for the LR 4 it may become a project for me to create one. I suspect the console ON/OFF is a simple logic toggle, so one only has to wire a small memory ckt to it.
