My 2016 is due for tires and I’m currently running stock 20” with 255/55/20.

The mod bug has bit and cut the frame horns as I previous mounted 275/55/20 and they rub the horn enough that I bought the 255/55/20 I have now.

Today I said “I need 18s BUT….i went down the internet hole….

My question comes, bc I like playing….if guys are running 265/65/18, 255/70/18 with the appropriate mods and it’s working with the SYA then would a 275/60/20 work?

I ask this bc I’ve been through the threads but 275/55/20 seems like the go too but what about bigger with SYA security.

If I can pump the brakes on a set of compos I’d like too for a bit longer but I’d love some more rubber.

I’m ok with it not being feasible too.

Thanks

Narrow tires ( pizza cutters) work wonders for rubbing. Also pay attention to offset. Too close in and it will rub on control arm, too far out and you'll lose a fender flare, and it stresses bearings even more. Front bearings don't need any help...the 275 on your example is more of an issue than overall diameter of that combo

My 265 70 18 marginally rubbed. Went SYA route to ensure I didn't brick it on bump stops of deflated.

Thanks guys. Not looking to sand calipers which is why Compos for the 18 wheel will be my play.

My current offset is 53 on the 20”. I am concerned on the UCA for sure but thought a 10mm spacer will sort out if I stay 20”. Compos are 44 I believe.

On the 20” front it’s about buying time as work quiets for 3 months for me.

265/70/18 is the goal tire for me.
