Yeah, that would be a good idea. I have no intention of running them 24/7. Those 32" MT/Rs are kinda big for the LR3 and the Rod-Mod makes it work. However, the on-road handling is noticably worse than the stock config. I've made the investment in separate rims, tires and rods and it only takes an hour to convert so I'm happy getting the best of both worlds.

Here is a before/after view:

I got 'em about 3 weeks ago....good of you to notice!

they actually make a difference funtionally too. The other rims worked but were not the correct offset and caused rubbing up front when I turned. These are awesome....no rubbing at all.

REALLY doesnt even look like the same truck! Looks great. Makes me wish I had done 2 sets. My General AT2s look like they will eat small children in the grocery store parking lot, but also look like slicks at Rausch Creek.

Thanks Morris....I'm really happy with the direction I went (getting two sets) and the performance of my set-up. I only put about 1500-2000 miles per year on the MT/Rs and at that rate they will last forever. Also, I can ignore concern over CV joints and such for the same reason.

The LR3 not only looks like a different rig, it perfoms like a different rig too! It's sleek and smooth on the road and it's a beast off of it. I've even become an advocate for the indi suspension (with the cross-linking)...I have no diffs hanging down to worry about. 12.5" down the center and the skid plates from engine to T-case so not much to worry about. My only weak spot are those running boards. The pics reveal that they've taken their share of abuse. I will eventually replace them with sliders.

Anyone else out there runnign the STT, or is Spiker the only one? I'm thinking of upgrading to a heavier duty tire... The Zeon LTZ's didn't hold up too well on the Keeweenaw Expedition. 2 flats and I was the only LR3 with 1 spare. One puncture was in the weak sidewall we had to plug to keep as a spare. Has anyone been able to compare the STT to the GY MTR Kevlar? The sidwall is way too weak on the LTZ's.

What size MT/R with Kevlar are you interested in? I note that in the 275/65R18 size it only has a "C" load rating.

that's the size i was interested in, however not sure about that C load rating? seems really low. Could it be a misprint? A C rating would certainly limit the ability to tow a trailer.

I'm not sure it's a misprint because I noticed that some sizes were "E" and some were "C."

I don't understand how it could be lower than the regular MT/R but it is. I think the jury is still out on the new tread pattern. It looks cool but I wonder how well it works.
