The reserve capacity on my Land Rover brand (Interstate) starter battery started to dwindle and after opening the doors 3 times after a long drive the starter was noticeably slow. That was even with a battery tender Jr on it. I need to throw that thing away so I don't keep using it lol. The new battery has 10 CCA and 10 more reserve capacity.
I would like to disable the door sensors so that they are wired closed even with the doors open. That way I won't worry so much when I open the door to get something out and I'm putting a 60A charger on it every day. Seems like there is a better way to care for the battery yet still open the doors if I need to.
I was thinking maybe removing each door latch and then bridge the wires together (assuming there are wires going to them?) like I did with the brake pad sensor. But I may have alignment issues and it might be harder to do than I think. Is there a better way to disable all door sensors except the tailgate and rear hatch?
