So far my wife loves it. I do as well. The biggest obstacle for her was going from a larger Tahoe to a smaller vehicle. Now that she's had a week of hauling kids around shes comfortable with it. We are not off-roaders, but the real test for the LR4 will be our first full winter next year. The area we live in averages 120 inches of snow per year. This year we got 150 inches. We live in an open area that gets very windy during the winter. There are days where we get a foot of snow overnight with 2-3 foot drifts on our street. Thats where the LR4 will be put to the test.
Hello tmgeneral,

You have a beautiful LR4! Your interior is the same as mine, but I have the Nara Bronze. I live in the SF Bay area, so I won't get to experience my LR4 in the snow unless I go to Tahoe or the mountains. I moved here from the Boston, MA area, so I am used to a lot of snow. There is a chance I may move back in a couple years, so I am actually hoping to get to use it in the snow. From what I hear, it is AWESOME in the snow... I am sure you and your wife will have no problem at all!

Keep us posted and congratulations! Good luck keeping that color clean! :)

tmgeneral,
congrats on the LR4. Looks great. I live in MA and we get a lot of snow and trust me you'll have no issue what so ever. you may want to upgrade to a snow tire in the winter time. the contis on the LR4 are a good all around wheel, but if you are talking about a foot or more of snow and ice you will probably be better off switching to a snow tire in the winter months. I lived in the mid west for a while so I know what you are referring to.
Good luck with the New LR4. Looks GREAT!!!

We will see on the snow tires. I managed to get away with all-seasons with the Tahoe. I may buy a set of the tire chains because I have at least one neighbor that will get stuck out in front of my home every winter.

I think you can probably get away with not getting snow tires. Back when I lived in MA, I had a BMW 330xi and then a Mercedes E320 4Matic and they recommended snow tires, but they zoomed along just fine. I did a lot of snow driving. I would imagine that the LR4 would be even better. But, for best performance, I think snow tires are best, but I think you would be fine. Best of luck! :)

I sure hope someday I get to actually drive mine in the snow.

This was the scene at the end of my driveway 6 weeks ago. Those piles are 8-10 feet high. Too bad I didn't have the LR4 then.

Wow! Congratulations! I love that color! You are moving to Panama as in the country in Central America? wow!

Yup... Panama in Central America. Definitely no snow there  Lot's of mud and sandy beaches though

We're in Santiago (Chile) now and it has been cold for a while and will only get colder, so it will be a nice change to get some warm (hot, really) weather in Panama. Santiago was great and the motorcycle off-road rides in the Andes were a blast. Now we will trade them for some nice caribbean isles and pacific coast beaches...

tmgeneral,

Wow! Now that's some snow!!! My parents had a rough winter back home West of Boston. I would be so excited to test my LR4 in the snow!!! Enjoy!
