NEW ARNOTT COMPRESSOR CONCERNS

I had a new Arnott compressor installed by my indie shop, and I have concerns about the new position. I understand that this is a superior product, but the application of it is questionable.
It now sits obviously lower on the frame rail, where the mounting bolts sit exposed to road hazards. In addition, all the wires/hoses leading to it are exposed at the front of the mounting tray. In short, it looks it a failure waiting to happen at the worst moment!
I talked to one of the techs (not a designer/engineer ) at the company, and he stated that he was concerned about this years ago when it first came out. But, he said that they have had very few warranty claims on this! Is it possible that most Rover owners don't really care about stuff like this? Maybe their vehicles are used only for trips to the grocery stores??? He invited me to send input to him, which he'll pass on to his engineers.
Given that the Rover is supposed to be an iconic off-road vehicle, I looked at this installation and thought: "What the hell is wrong with this picture?!?! It looks like a one-off shade-tree solution!!"

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there a better solution???
Maybe I have to look into buying sliders or fabricating a new frame-mounted enclosure?

1. There is already a bracket that can be purchased that relocates the compressor higher on the rail.
2. There should be an acoustic box enclosing the compressor and (I thought) most of the hoses/wires too.
3. Did you mean "AMK" compressor and not Arnott?

Just purchased an Arnot comp for my 06 lr3 hope I don't run into same issue! My immediate issue Is when my Mechanic attempted to remove first bolt holding unit in 2.5 rachets and bolt snapped! Comp fell out in his hand not on head luckily. Other 2 bolts completely rotten! Obviously first time for repair. My question is do we need to replace complete racket and rubber mounts or should just weld new nuts inplace and hope for the best?

This is the Arnott replacement.
I'm very interested in learning about the bracket and enclosure that you mentioned. Can you direct me to the proper source??

I’m dealing with exact same situation as yours. I have brand new Arnott P-2645 AMK air compressor installed on my 2005 LR3. I questioned mechanic about missing upper and lower compressor covers (housing) and he said that new Arnott compressor doesn’t need it. I had a hard time believing that having compressor with wiring and air lines exposed to rain, snow, freezing temperatures, dirt, etc. is ok, so I contacted Arnott Industries. I got response that they provide limited lifetime warranty and that compressor is waterproof. I’m still concerned about wires being exposed to wet conditions as well as hitting object with compressor as it sits much lower than original one. I questioned local dealership about covers (housing) specific to Arnott AMK compressor and I’m waiting to hear back from them on this. I will share what I find out.

I talked to local dealership today and it turns out (according to them) Land Rover does make specific covers for Arnott AMK compressor. Part numbers are as follows: upper cover LR044027 ($130) and lower cover RVC500010 ($86). I asked them to confirm with their master technician that covers will work for sure as I don’t want to prepay for parts that might not fit and they confirmed that covers fit. I’ll keep you posted on this, but I’m curious if anyone else on this forum had experience with covers for Arnott AMK compressor.

I’ll snap and post picture of installed compressor on my Rover and if you could do the same, so that we can compare. I’m curious if they were both installed the same way.
