Normal driving and when I floor the gas pedal somehow my RPM get stock at about 3K and would no move as if it was choking but when I let off the gas pedal and just drive at normal speed, it runs normal. Please help.

It is a 2001 DII with 119000 miles without big issue rather than timing gear cover gasket change. Last tune up was last 13k.

Agree, could be a clogged Cat... or fuel pump starting to go.

When was it last tuned, have new wires been installed, have the 02's been replaced ,what octane are you using and do you have a check engine light on?

tune up wasn't to long ago, new plugs, new o2 sensor, new plug wires. I have check engine light on and i need to get it scan. No symptoms of misfire or relating to ignition bec if i let off the gas pedal the car will run fine but i cannot floor it to gear down and gain some speed. Is this transmission? is this related to throttle speed control(if there is such thing)?

Get it scanned then get back to us with the 4 digit fault code numbers. Sounds like your truck is going into limp mode cause it is not happy.

Thanks disco Mike. I will get it scan today. What would be the signs of a clogged catalytic converter?

Having just replaced a Cat on my older car, I can say that it can be a feeling of lack of power at certain speeds, or in my case almost like pulling the choke if it had one when accelerating hard. And when if finally failed completely it would even drive, about a week from good to worse.

Joey,Thanks for that input. Your explanation of pulling the choke on accel is exactly my symptoms. The DII doesn't misfire or even feel like dying but instead choke at about 3K rpm and wont move forward. If I let off the gas pedal it will run normal up to even 80 MPH w/o problem unless if I floor the gas again to down shift.
