So I took my ailing 95 disco in for the gas tank recall and they replaced my gas pump whle they were at it and it seems my lean running and lack of power were a result of a tired fuel pump. Acceleration and overall power are much improved and no error lights so far. Of course this means I can probably say goodby to 15MPG highway as well.

Wish me luck.

By the way: I took it to Encino LR in Encino CA and they charged me a $98 diagnostic fee to make sure a lack of fuel was the only problem and $325 for the pump and other parts. $0 labor. $600 less than Hornberg in Hollywood wanted and they cleaned my car inside and out and I have 2 kids so I think it was money well spent.

Glad to hear that it wasn't the injectors.

wow, the 15mpg highway thing is scary enough to me. I've gone 300 miles, 95% highway, and still have 1/4 tank left. And my cruise control isn't even working...gotta go check those vacuum hoses soon.

Good deal on the fix. I think LR of Thousand Oaks doesn't try to **** you if you let them know you're not one of the rich-type Rover owners, so they wouldn't be a bad place to take it to if you need to sometime. They're pretty nice.
