yeah mine does it when the surface is freshly asphalted, wet, or with sand/gravel like a construction site. Besides the shavings in the transfer case, was there any other reasons why it was replaced? I wanna keep an eye out for signs..
No. I had my car in for a drivetrain noise and they were just checking everything.
Got it back and they said they found some metal in the transfer case and just threw a new one in, but that didn’t fix my problem.

I really haven’t heard of any issues with the transfer cases in these cars. You could do the fluid change like many other members here have.
And I guess i have had a little skipping on the wheels before on very specific roads like what you mentioned, but never clean dry pavement.

That sounds like a malfunction. It should be quiet unless there's something close to the sensors....
The 15 did not have the loc diff option, but the veh would start jerking when turned all the way right in particular as though it was locking up a little. It was subtle, but the tech told me it was more noticeable than normal and I should keep an eye on it as it probably will need a t-case soon. He said it's abt 50/50 on those, they see ones that never had fluid changed primarily. This one was close to the service interval, so who knows..glad I didn't get it. Based on my previous 10'RR, it's always something, you just want to minimize the damage to your wallet.

Bumping this because my 2013 just started chirping every single time I shift to Reverse whether or not there is anything within a mile of my rear. Tried cleaning off the sensors to no avail. I may connect the GAP tool to check for codes. Anyone else having this issue?

I have a similar issue periodically and can see a warning flash on the dash but not long enough to read it. No stored codes either when reading with the iid tool. In my case it's different than the park sensor tone for either the front or rear. It seems to be mostly after I haven't driven in a while.

Mine has now settled down after a few weeks of constant “instant on” when in reverse. I just realized that I went through a touchless car wash yesterday that may have blasted the sensors clean, but I have a monthly pass to that place and I go so often that the staff all know my LR4 and me by name. So it’s unlikely that the sensors got that dirty. I will throw the reader on it after Christmas and report back.

I had a weird thing a couple of weeks ago where the sensors would beep a couple times then stop then beep a couple of times and constantly repeat. Tried to wipe them and it didn’t work so then I reverted to old reliable and gave each of them a smack with my hand and they started working properly again. Funny how some of the electronics are on these cars. I have a maker lamp that seems to turn off every couple of weeks but a good old smack from old reliable and it turns right back on! Rovers am I right!

Haha, why didn’t I think of that! It has settled down a little bit but I will give that a try next time I go out. I’ve gotten used to just tapping the button to disable it and going old school and using mirrors and craning my neck when I reverse.
