I had a coolant leaking issue back in 2016-2017, it was high pressure tested and found out finally exactly as same as what was suggested here : the crossbody pipe

but I made a mistake, I never asked whether the shop who, was specialized in Rover, which (front or rear) pipe they have replaced., nor did I ask whether they used the re-designed part or not.

Yesterday and today, I got a coolant level low warning from cold start, it disappeared shortly without leaving any engine light.

I checked the reservoir, the coolant level is quite low.

I have ordered a bottle of coolant, and I want to do some topping off and see any repeated pattern before I go to shop again.

I have some question here.

1) is it normal for coolant to evaporate itself during a 7-8 years time?
2) is it true that the corssbody pipe is a wear item as what is suggested here
3) I have gone through many posts here about the coolant issue, and it seems the leaking is hard to find. So in worst scenario, and in terms of the labor cost to take the intake off, what are my best options to replace all together

Parts List
LR090630 - Redesigned “water manifold” part of front crossover
LR092992 - Redesigned “water pipe” (Y-pipe) part of front crossover that goes into the block
LR109401 - Manifold - Heater (Rear crossover pipe)
LR097165 - Water pump assembly
LR028136 - Oil cooler tube (goes on the back of water pump)
LR095895 - Thermostat Kit

1. You have not changed your coolant in 7-8 years! Firstly, it is a closed system and there should be no evaporation. Secondly, I wonder how the pH has changed and what is getting eaten away.
2. Hot / cold fluctuating temperatures with plastics do not fair well.
3. Most of us have changed all the piping. However, a proper pressure test makes it very clear.

Cheers

I know, I did the radiator/reservoir coolant overhaul, so I think the coolant could last a bit longer, and the car has lower mileage recent years

I have not touched the heater hoses, the water pump nor the thermostat.
Also, I have not touched the oil cooler tube.
Cheers
i see some posts about water pump non-visible leaking

just wondering whether it is worthwhile to replace it if there is no major extra labor cost involved

Ok…. Fyi and as per the suggested maintenance schedule I flush brake fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid.
I have not changed my water pump, or oil cooler and the thermostat only once.
Good call on the PCV valve, @ttforcefed .
