I recently had the front lettering replaced under warrantee due to discoloration. Looks to be a new common issue to watch for.

That looks incredibly cool!! I think I might have to steal your idea.

Did you paint the black plastic moldings white, or you bought them?

I have this same problem with mt 2005 LR3. It has 60K miles and has been kept in the garage. I bought ir pre-owned and the warranty was extened to 5 years or 75K miles. I did not read the fine print. After 50K most things on the LR3 are NOT covered. The local dealer told me "acid rain" caused the letter problem. LR corp said not covered and I should talk to my local service manager next time I am in. This is something that should NEVER happen. Especially on a Land rover that is suppose to be tough enough to go off road and handle all weather conditions. I will see what the service manager says. If he refuses to replace the letters, then the LR CEO will hear from me. I will keep you posted.

Wow, dude, seriously? You are comparing off road ability to a 20 mil clearcoat thickness on painted plastic stickers? Good luck with that letter. Do you speak Hindi?

Its a long story. This particular LR3 was imported by Land Rover North America prior to the LR3’s launch in the US Market. It has a unique option’s configuration while LRNA tried to figure out what trim levels and options they wanted to offer the US. This vehicle was used internally by the Premier Auto Group’s (PAG – parent company of Land Rover under Ford) Special Project Director as a test mule for alternate paint schemes. This includes Custom body molding painting on mirrors, door handles, fenders, and bumpers. Custom painting front grill and roof rack rails and custom interior painting on dash trims.

I had mine replaced last week under warranty. But the parts guy said they're 85 dollars for the lettering if I did it after the 50k.

That Back lettering is So awesome but does it ever get in the way when you put the back down. like does it rest on the bumper and put pressure on the letters or anything?

My '05 letters faded as well. They actually changed the color scheme slightly its now called "Brunell Silver". I am going to change them myself as I'm out of warranty.
