OK I am sick of trying to figure out which route I should go regarding the dreaded great tire decision. 275 65R18 Cooper STT and run the suspension Mod all the time. What do you think? I do not encounter a lot of hard and rocky terrain. I deal with sloppy clay mud that sticks to everything and stinks like hell. To be honest I like the Cooper Zeons and the Nitto Terras but to be honest they are horrible to use down here in Louisiana. They don't clean out very well and you slide all over the place, might as well put slicks on it and try my best.

I need the cons of running the mod 24/7. I am not so much concerned about tire wear as I am damage to my LR3.

Also any pros and cons about the Cooper STT verses the MTRs. I am not to happy about the load rating of the MTRs. I can't find any accounts of the Cooper STT on an LR3.

Nevermind. Found what I was looking for. I still have questions about running the mods 24/7

The STT is a pretty good tire for the kind of mud you are describing, but it's quite a commitment and sacrifice for a daily commuter tire.

Probably both....and I don't know what you're talking about with respect to the MT/R's load rating; they are rated E and last I checked that's pretty darn good!

I would not run the mod full-time. Some have and report no issues, but to me the data is not sufficient to determine long-term effects and most of my miles are on-road, unfortunately.

I would not be afraid to run the mod full time. I would get an alignment done with the new tires.
The only resion I don't is My wife loves stock acess mode to get the kids in and out. She drives it 70% of the time.

BFG's no question. Not as aggressive as the Goodyear's, more aggressive than anything else. Still fairly quiet on the highway and great in snow and mud. They also wear like iron.

I had a set of those on my grand cherokee. They were a good all around tire but they slick over pretty easy. I find the Nittos or the Zeons Clean out a little better. They are extremely tough and don't wear at all. I had about 30,000 on them when I got ride of my Jeep and they still looked brand new.
