Costco sells batteries at a good price, at least when I replaced ours after 6 years of ownership. It might be worth just replacing it (and going to the bigger model if you don't have it yet) so that you have no surprises when you least need them.
You might want to consider getting a jump start pack too, if you don't have one. Ours stores neatly in the cubby on the driver's side trunk area (where the rear AC is.) We got it from Costco before our battery died and got a chance to try it out when the battery went, and it worked really well (managed to talk my daughter through how to use it over the phone when she was stranded). A worthy $40-ish investment, definitely handier than jumper cables.
