Tire options for LR4

Hi all, I am new here, just bought an LR4 a couple of weeks back. First thing I want to do is find out what tires are available, and to my disappointment, there are not many options for good off road tires in the 255/55/19 tire size. And also to my disappointment, 18 inch rims apparently will not fit.

So, believe it or not, I am thinking about a 20 inch rim, because there is a 285/50/20 available for the Toyo Open Country A/T. I have always liked the open country A/T, had the M/Ts on my Jeep Wrangler.

Anybody out there have these tires (or other tires this size)? Any issues with this size? They are 31.3" in diameter. Any issues with rubbing at full stuff? Does is mess with the traction control? Any noticeable affect on torque? I think it is only about a 3% error for speed, not to worried there.

Look at the Pirelli Scorpion ATR 19" tires. I have over 35k on them, they are quiet and wear very well.

I am very satisfied with the Pirelli Scorpion ATR 19" tires on my LR3- over 35k, still very quiet and they wear well. Just rotate them and you'll get a lot of life out of them.

Goodyear has the Wrangler Silent Armour in 275/55/20. It looks like a more aggresive tire than the ATR. I hear that one fits with the rod-mod.

Sorry to hear that the Kos didn't fit. I know some guy here is running a 33" tire, but it has more than just a rod lift on it.

If you are looking for a bit more sidewall and footprint, but want to keep it within 2% of OE diameter (i.e., 30.5"), Nitto offers the Terra Grappler in a 265/50-20.

All, I have found an 18" rim that fits!!! Thank you all for your replies, but I am seriously thinking about these rims from the UK.

From what I can see, there is a lot of interest in an 18" rim for the LR4. Maybe if there is enough interest, they can drop the price!
