Good point @greiswig.

Here's a dumb question... going with oem head gaskets again for my '11 LR4. Do I get the original superseded head gaskets or the ones that supersedes the old version? What makes the newer design better/worst than the previous design, if the original design lasted 100k+ miles?

LH: LR105293 (supersedes) or Supersession(s): LR010693; LR026142; LR084185; LR181763
RH: LR105294 (supersedes) or Supersession(s): LR010692; LR026141; LR084186; LR181762

Stranded 3 - 4 times?? How?!
I've had no issues other than when the generator was done.
Of course, mine has never overheated... can't imagine any good came of that.
1st 3 were cooling system taking a dump. Finally figured out the “rebuilt” engine wasn’t rebuilt.

Now the reman that has about 40k miles on it is pressurizing the cooling system. I’m guessing a head bolt has lost torque. Apparently it’s common if they don’t use block inserts on reassembly.
