I've had a bunch replaced by window companies and they are all OEM. The heated windshield is an expensive one the replicate.

The glass guy just left, my front end looks like new again. Apparently, Pilkington (the manufacturer of the OEM windshield) makes the same exact glass for the LR4, with heating element and sensor opening but without the Land Rover logo, and sells it for about 1/2 the price for those who do not wish to go through an insurance claim. This is according to the kid who installed it, so I don't know if that's true or not, but thought I'd mention it. Cost of the OEM glass - had I not gone through the insurance - would have been about $1300 parts and labor.

Any sound issues? Did the seals settle properly? I only had noise issues once the weather cooled down. I hope you don't have any issues, but if you do, you may not notice until cooler weather arrives.

I don't know about $ 1300. but i insisted on OE glass and got one from Safelite for 797 installation included .It has a Land Rover logo, heating element , rain sensor, dimming sensor and home link.It is for LR3 but both glass are essentially the same.No issues with noise yet, but I had a new cowl installed and they didi not pushed clips deep enough into the metal frame resulting some water entry into the HVAC system thru cabin filter intake., so i had to take the cowl off , apply a piece of aluminum sheet above a air intake, before I re installed a plastic cowl, that i also glued to the windscreen with a tube of windshield adhesive , that i purchased at Pep Boys.Works like a charm ..

So far so good, no noises or strange creaks. As far as cooler weather, well, that may take a while... 102 today, if we get lucky it may drop down to the 80s next week.
