I recently took my d2 through some mud/puddles and everything went good until the last puddle i hit choked the engine. Thats when i looked under and realized the air intake is in the wheel well. I am just now really learning about working on my own car and it seems to me that thats a really bad idea to have an air intake in a wheel well. Is there anything else i can do other then installing a snorkel to at least partially make it tougher for my baby to suck up water. A snorkel is like 400 bucks and i am putting in a locking t case so i dont not have cash around to do that snokel just yet.

Thanks,
Mike

Don't splash into puddles, if the water is deep, then make a wake... if you are just high speeding for fun and splash effect, the get a snorkel.

But remember a snorkel will keep water from getting in the intake, but not the electrics.

Im with joey here if you decide on the snorkel remember "But remember a snorkel will keep water from getting in the intake, but not the electrics" and personally I would not recommend going mudding alone there has to be some one with a 4X4 where your at.

Mscofield07 you may want to make this a standalone topic.

But they are just different looks. But neither one will prevent all water issues on a Discovery, remember the ECU is not water proof.
