@Longtrail I’m still up in the air on switching to the upgraded metal parts for everything; I haven’t seen a lot of feedback on here for those that have converted. I probably need to scan the jag forums to get more results and see which brand is more popular (I think there are a few now)

Chains still feel tight using the finger test through the oil filler; 5-7k mi oil change intervals since I’ve owned it at 50k.

I may throw on some pulleys/tensioners while it’s apart, but I’m not too terribly concerned since those can be accessed without SC removal. The biggest concern is what should I do at this mileage that would require SC removal again within a short timeframe
I did the front cross over in metal and had to bore out the lil coolant plug ****, did the rear cross over in metal and decided to swap out El cheapo sensor on it for the OEM one, the China sensor was press got and never went back in the same, the oem one leaked so I had to add coolant safe rtv. Later my front hose started weeping at the SC plastic y so when I changed that I added the aluminum thermostat, I tried changing the sensor/ probe for the oem one but it was a different diameter. It's been 15k since the thermostat and had no coolant issues.

JLR makes metal pipes now. I have a set I’ll sell you, I bought them thinking I could make it work on the NA motor but yea way different. I don’t think the dealer will accept the return. Not my photo but this is them.

I noticed those in a few SC V8 Jag tear down images/videos, but I wasnt sure if they were actually OEM, or just a much higher quality fake. Some Chinese parts are very convincing and its not like It'd be hard to 3D scan the OEM part which would capture the logos and such (or import the point cloud and add the logos in a CAD later).
The reason I was unsure if they were legit is that, that the rear manifold is still plastic on those engines in the teardowns I've seen. Seems odd JLR would have realized Metal was better for the front manifold but not the rear one.

If you bought them from a Dealer, what dealer was it? The dealers around DC don't seem to know anything about metal coolant pipes when I called and asked.
Whatever dealer will sell them to me will get my money.

Interesting, If you look at the part numbers in the image, they have an "-A" at the end of the part number, I assume for aluminum. The ones in the photos you posted, LR092992-A and LR090630-A are the part numbers that dealers have told me don't exist. And the non "-A" versions are just the plastic pipes.
I'll do some more research and see what I can figure out.

These new part numbers you posted seem to be parts for the 2020s era Defenders, they're compatible with an LR4?

@q5sys this is consistent to what I’ve found as well; jag forums have more discussion and P#s
Thanks for the info, I'll dig around in some Jag forums and see what I can find.

Interestingly Ali has the metal pipes with JLR logos without the "-A" in the part number label. Other than from buying direct from a dealership I really have no way to trust what I buy isn't a Chinese knockoff and the retailer I'm buying from isn't aware that its not authentic. The fact that China can make very good replicas of things like Rolex's with all those fine gears and springs... means that replicating a metal pipe with logos is not going to be difficult. lol

My rover is just shy of 90K, so I'm looking to do an overhaul on it like you are. For the price I paid, I'm happy with putting $10K into it for parts and service and then having a solid vehicle for another 90K with continued proper maintenance.
