POWDER COATING STOCK WHEELS

Our 2006 LR3 HSE has stock wheels with factory finish, which appears to be slightly chipping.
Does anyone have ideas or suggestions about powder coating, possibly even changing the color?

Cost included chem dip/strip, result was perfect

Just use plastidip and do them yourself. I did mine over 3 years ago and they still look great. I used about 5 cans. Cost me under $30 to do all 4 wheels.

I did the same thing in satin black and it cost $65 per wheel. Looking to get a couple more grooved ten spokes to have a couple spares and rotate the two spares in.

My 2cents... Plasti-Dip SUX!!! You have to be careful how you wash them and they gets scratched easily. The process is time consuming for a tempory solution. Dupli-Color is the way to go.

There are tons of videos on Youtube that show you how, Still a lot easier than PlastiDip. I tried the PlastiDip and after a week I had to strip it off and go with the Duplicolor.

Took me about 2 hrs with plastidip. To each their own. My wheels came out great and still holding up after 3 years.

$65/wheel for powder coating is a great price. I think you should budget up to $150/wheel if you take it to most shops. Includes them taking wheels off and on. I had mine done in matte black for the stock OEM 19’s (2012) and love the results.

You can choose from a number of colors. Don’t forget the center caps being replaced if you need a new color for those as well.
