The Pirelli's are beyond bad. FWIW I have had great experiences with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. I have run these on multiple vehicles and they are great. You give up some ultimate AT traction off road but on the road they are awesome.

agree on both points. the LTX have been rock solid in northeast winter on my escalade.

I put the 255/55r19 Continental Terrain contact a/t’s last fall and drove 650 miles down to the Overland Expo. They are great on the highway as there was no noticeable noise difference over the OEM Contis(junk as you all know). Could be a little more aggressive but I just got from a trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan traveling the logging roads with rutted snow and mud and they performed admirably. Have not used them in winter daily driving as I swap out for blizzaks.

Had the same experience with Pirelli Zero which were fitted by the dealer when I bought my LR4.

I switched to Bridgestone Dueler HL Alenza Plus (all season). They have been performing well. The 80,000 miles warranty is an added plus. See link below.

I too have to go with the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus. It's the best tire I've ever had for performance, traction, reliability, noise and tread life. 65,000 miles on them and I don't drive gently.

These zero's are living up to their name! 255/50/20 OEM tires on our 16.5 LR4. At 15k miles they are near the wear bars. Rotated twice. Noticed one tire has failed internally as there is a golf ball sized bulge on the sidewall. Wife's DD. No offroading. Any recommendation for a good AT replacement?

Followup.... Went with Michelin Defender LTX MS in stock 255/50/20. Must say this tire is better in every category vs the Pirelli's. Wow, are they quiet inside the cab. These should have come as factory tires.

That's great to hear. Those are the ones I have pencilled in as replacements to the OEM contis next spring. Seems to get great reviews.

Great. Keep us updated on how you like them.The Premier LTX with 8.5/32 starting tread depth just seem a little too shallow for the money. The Defender should last better and handle light off roading better.

are they really horrible?
