No it was fine, thank goodness. I think some noob LR tech doesn't understand that it's not something that you torque down when you hit bottom. The tension of the O-ring keeps it from coming loose, not the stress on the threads as much. It was not cross threaded or anything. Plus, it would be very obvious if it leaks and easy to fix now.
