A motion for Preliminary Approval of the Class Action Settlement (the court has to approve the settlement terms) was filed on 6/28 and will be heard on 8/2. The proposed settlement looks to be a mix of warranty extension (for those who have not had the problem diagnosed by an authorized Land Rover retailer as of yet) and reimbursement for those who have previously paid for it.

Hey all…I have a 2012 LR4 HSE and I’ve been anxious about the timing chain issue for years. Went to many service centers and each time they diagnosed it as something else. Well…it finally got so bad that I had to take it in out of fear of damaging it further and it’s going to be an $8-10k repair estimate.
my question is this…can anyone provide information on the process, what to avoid? Were you able to get Landrover to fix it since it’s a known issue? Best place to take the vehicle with the best price? Did you sell your LR4? Essentially, what did you do, what did you regret and were you happy with your decision.
This is a huge repair and I’m apprehensive about doing it. Also, I know there is a Class Actiin suit pending with LandRover over this issue, have any of you gone through that process? If you’re interested in knowing more please see the following link:
