I tried fitting an Optima back in 2009 to no avail. The terminals were backwards and when I got the other style with reversed terminals, the cover could not be fit back on. I really don't remember the details, but it just got to the point where the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. I run an EFB on my '06 and it's been pretty good.
Clarification:

I run an AGM on my '05 and I have to top it off every 10 days, partly because I rarely drive it.
