Getting tires installed at Discount Tire - Lift Concerns?

Just had some tire work done yesterday on my 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE at the local Discount Tire, who I really respect. They did have me put it in crawl mode and raise the suspension to the highest setting before they jacked it up. LR3 and RRS basically the same chassis.

The manual says the opposite, suspension should be in off-road height when changing a tire.

I follow what the manual says as noted above, select off-road mode, then lift the truck. I don't know what the technical reason is for this, but it seems easy enough.

That said, after several bad experiences many years ago at multiple different tire shops, I never, EVER bring my vehicle to them. I remove the wheels at home, and bring loose wheels to the shop. That way they can't damage anything by lifting the vehicle improperly. My bad experiences were all with cars that have specific lift points the shops ignored... given the LR4 has body-on-frame and it's pretty hard to screw up lifting at the frame, it's likely not a concern for the truck.

You’ll be fine and definitely enjoy the tires. I’ve had mine on for about 6 months already and very happy with them.

Good point about showing where the air compressor is located. I had my "free" rotation done at one of their shops here but turned out to be not free at all since I ended up replacing a broken air compressor bracket assembly after the kid used it as a jacking point. Didn't realized it until I was near my house when I felt weird vibration coming from the area. Turned around to take it back but they were closed already since I was the last customer in for the day. Searched for the vibration myself and found the cause when I pulled he plastic cover off. Busted bracket. The cover even had the marks of the floor jack used.
