I've had my LR3 for about 2 years and about 4 months ago my emblems started looking almost as if they were chipping or something. Is this common and where would be a good place to find a replacement set?

Your best bet is to find a set on fleabay, dealer will want about $75 per word to replace.

Might be cheaper to pull them off and have someone re-paint them. Might be worth a stop in at a body shop.

I would not even pull them off. That's the biggest pain with those letter is lining them up. we have a ton of paintless dent guys and custom painters in the northeast. that is not a hard or long job IMO. tape off, scuff and airbrush would not take too long. if you take them off I would just get new.

there is a touch up marker at Atlantic British. I think it's about $5, it is especially for the emblem. I guess you can always remove the letters, i think it worth trying to fix it first.

I called about the touchup marker from AB. They told me that they don't have any pen for that.

Why not just replace them? It's not a big deal to do. Lettering is available for $95 here: http://bputah.com/

Search for threads on "debadging" for tips on how to remove the old lettering. Or have a body shop do it for you.
