Fitting Oversized Spare Tire Underneath

Hi David,
You really have to deflate the spare in order to fit it under. My first attempt was a failure because the tire was "overinflated" ( 15 PSI).
After getting it to 8 PSI everything was OK.
When are you going to try your new tires?

I am heading to the Hollister Hills SVRA over Thanksgiving weekend to test out my new tires. We just got a couple days of rain (finally!!!) in the SF bay area, so I am hoping the trails are less dusty than back in September. I am going to try to get some good photos on the trails.

What kind of tire inflators do you guys carry around? I'm looking for a reliable one.

I carry a Viair 450p, mainly for the 100% duty cycle it has.

I picked up this one from Amazon, but hasnt arrived yet. (50% Duty Cycle 30/30)

It looks good to me. How much did you have to deflate the spare to fit it?

10 psi.

I only ask because others' pics in this thread doesnt seem to hang below the bumper as much. I can only guess its because mine are 285/60 vs their 265/65 width difference.

I still have not had a pressure sensor warning on my spare. I did deflate it to the point where I would expect it to warn me, but I dont think I had to go as far as 10 psi.

After getting my spare out a few times, messing around, its not too tight anymore. Just takes a little wiggle side to side and it pops out. even after being warm.

No TPMS on mine, thankfully. I will rotate the spare along with the others. Maybe after its had a little wear it will be easier to deal with. I havent tried dropping it yet. On the list "to-do" tomorrow.
