I just finished making a bumper mount full size spare tire carrier, I'm checking to see if anyone may be interested in purchasing one? It's not quite as polished as the commercially available ones, but it would be around 1/3 the price! I'll probably make another and throw it up on eBay, but thought the forums may be a better place to get any idea if there's interest.

Nice work.
Would it be difficult to modify the hinge so the large bolt portion curved forward?
Relocating it to the fat corner part of the bumper? Like the terrafirma ones. Also is the hinge greasable, or could a greasenipple be added?
Then most of that bracket could be under the bumper cover. The latch part likely would only need a small cut in the cover to "poke" out as well.

The short answer is no, if that’s what you are looking for you buy the $1500 version. This is definitely for the budget build crowd and probably not well suited for the D4 guys, but I offer it up here because it would work. I modified an existing carrier to fit my Land Rover, so it kind of is what it is. The pivot is on taper bearings, so they are grease-able /replaceable, though not as easy as a few pumps through a grease zerk.

Gotcha, ive looked at some universal swing outs before. The Terra Firma are too pricy for me as well ( not all d4 guys got money to burn ).
Guessing the bumper cutouts could be a little more discreet, assuming you didnt pull the cover off to mount?
Appreciate the ingenuity as im mounting 265/70/18 this week and have no good way to carry a spare. Will be watching this thread.
