Terrafirma Swingaway Tire Carrier Issue - Loose Wheel

I just installed a Terrafirma tire carrier on my LR4 and I’m running into a really interesting fitment issue where there is still play in the wheel even after I’ve tightened down all 3 lugs onto the mounting plate. I’m running a RR wheel with a 47mm offset, so that has more material than the stock 53mm yet I can’t get the lugs to tighten the wheel firmly onto the carrier.

I’ve chased the thread to make sure the powdercoating wasn’t the issue and I’ve even taken a wire wheel to the threads for good measure. Anyone else run into this issue before? Are my studs too long? My initial thoughts was to throw a 5-7mm spacer to solve problem but I haven’t seen issue come up for anyone before.

How far does the wheel stud stick out?

Just get some m14 washers and m14x1.5 nyloc nuts.

Thanks for the respones guys. I thought about this yesterday and threw on a 5mm H&R spacer I had laying around from a BMW. Problem solved.
