Nwoods, that is one MASSIVE spare you have back there. Is the air suspension able to handle the abuse? Does it self adjust to maintain the same ride height (self-leveling)? Not sure what spare I have under there, I will wait until the car is in the garage to check.

It is not a massive spare, it is just a bit larger then a stock full size spare that is an option on the vehicle and would be just below it under the vehicle.

Of course it does self level. Do think if an average person, which is much heavier then a spare tire gets in the car it just drives on an angle or slope?

Do you really think that the designers made it so you could not carry any load in the cargo area much less a whole 60-80 pounds for a spare tire?

I know you are new at this vehicle but a little deductive reasoning might be in order.

Maybe read up on it in the owners manual here under owners handbook might help some.

Agree on the reasoning bit :help:, this will be my first Landy and I am still at the touchy-feely stage. Appreciate your comments though.

I am not trying to be short with you, just trying to help in your formulation. Almost anything you need to know is on this board somewhere.

Things like can the air supension handle a spare tire just seem a bit odd since it can handle a very heavy vehicle and 7 passengers.

I guarantee if you get one or recently aquired one you will love it.

I am very hopeful that I will. I have been running Toyota 4x4s for the last ten years or so, this will hopefully be evn better when I take it off road :) Thanks.

Nathan's LR3 did not have air suspension, one of a handful in the U.S.
