Previous owner had the water pump replaced. You'd think they'd replace the tensioners with it opened up a bit, what's a little farther going to cost.

My '12 had the noise and it was consistent, unlike the OP from 2 years ago. I had the cam actuators replaced for $1k while they were in there. I think on my engine the actuators were making noise since it didn't sound like chain slap. But now it runs really good. Its strong up the grades and has a distinct quiet visceral tone to it when its giving all it has at high RPM's.
