In Canada, Driver insurance ratings are not affected by a windshield claim. As such, the 3 times I have replaced a windshield, it was with the dealer. All for the mere cost of the deductable.

Well you need to find out who makes the “aftermarket” glass. There are different companies. If Pilkington makes it you’re good. Make sure it’s the one with the heating element too, unless you don’t want it.Thanks @f1racer328 that's actually really helpful. The glass shop was trying to tell me about this distinction and I wasn't entirely grasping the nuances. I was left with the impression that the non-logo glass was a different manufacturer but built to LR specs. From what you are saying it's the same glass from the same manufacturer, minus the LR logo. I'm fine with that.
