I have my new-to-me 2015 LR4 99% back together after doing the timing chains. I ran into two, very minor but extremely annoying, items that prevented me from finishing today.

1. Is there supposed to be a hose connected to the Y on this coolant line?

2. Also, does anyone have ideas/experience retrofitting this connection, OR know the o-ring specs for the push connector?

3. Does anyone have either an alternative way to connect this line OR have found a replacement part at a local parts store?

Make sure you get all the broken pieces out of the coolant pump fitting.
I use a dry wall screw to remove the plastic pieces.

That grey hose barb fitting has no connections.

If you want that black bit as a plastic part you need to purchase the entire assembly from Rover.
If you are OK with introducing a new material of construction - no matter how limited in surface area it may be - then those are available in brass.

If anyone knows of that black plastic bit being available in aluminum PLEASE let us all know!

1. Nothing connects to the false n-ipple. I use that specific connector to fill coolant to the rear of the block.

2. Get a brass n-ipple. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1754936536...xUwh4WqQAu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Djkaosone,
Your comment number 1 caught my attention. How do you fill cooland to the rear of the block? That connector is the output pipe from the rear crossover pipe passing throught the throttle body.
I'm having issues bleeding all the air out of a 2015 LR4 with a 3.0L, w/supercharger.

The pipe runs to the rear crossover pipe that connects to both heads. Which helps fill the block from the rear and gets just enough coolant into the block to complete the coolant circulation, but it does NOT completely get all the air out of the system. You'll still have to burp the system. 2-3 checks/ top off usually takes care of it.

This comes in handy when you don't have the proper tools (coolant vacuum filler and air compressor) while doing a field repair. I accidentally dumped out almost 2 gallons of coolant from my temp sensor at the thermostat. A freak story where the thermostat bolt came loose over a 70 mile run across the desert and the temp sensor kept hitting the ac clutch until it came loose. One other lucky thing was, I swapped over to dexcool and a buddy and I carried a gallon of dexcool each.

Perhaps I am lucky, patient or both but I have been able to conventionally bleed my V8 system with no issues other than just following the manual. I got no room for additional once in a while tools..
