Yeah like many here i am guessing I rely on a general indy mechanic who works on all kinds of cars and is great at routine maintenance but is out of his depth on specialized stuff like transmissions superchargers and other items. I know this and am generally ok with the trade off. He backed out the set screw while looking for the oil drain plug ( which is buried on the top back of the unit under the lid of the engine compartment). Most of them are in the snout in the older m112s. Anyway he put it back in but not all the way down to where it was before because it was hitting something ( needed to pull the actuator and realign it ).Ouch. And your Indy left the screw out?
Take him a 6 pack and have a chat.
That ideology really takes off when you consider and electric car.Yikes. All this extra complexity for less power and a 1 MPG gain...Is it possible to marry a 5.0L to the new 8 speed?
Yikes. All this extra complexity for less power and a 1 MPG gain...Is it possible to marry a 5.0L to the new 8 speed?
Check out these burned gears versus the new one. I guess redlining it with all the boost bypassing the engine overheated the thing.
also Chris at velocity ap sent me this technical bulletin jaguar released on this exact issue with the set screw.
