Hi,

I'm trying to spruce up the wife's LR3 since we decided to keep it pretty much forever. (crappy trade in values helped, but we like that tank)... One part I can't find is the rubber tray that sits on the dash above the glove box... It would be nice to have it back to hide the melted crayola that lies beneath ;-) Simple rubber part, nowhere to be found... Is this dealer only, do they even sell it ?

Other one is an aftermarket Reverse camera system. I know, *search*... Well, I've searched for 30 minutes and all I find are thread saying "use the search". There is a certain irony there.. I see on google (and on this board, but an incomplete thread) a camera that mounts where the tail gate licence plate light would be, it sounds perfect... but I'd like the entire kit, with an LCD monitor that preferably might fit where the nav screen isn't (her car doesn't have Nav). If you know of someone who did this and documented the install, please be kind to point me in his direction, I can probably search based on names with more success...

Where are you located? I have used a technician here in the Boston area that specializes in custom electrical components such as video players, cameras, laser jammers, etc. He does amazing work. If you are anywhere near here I can get you his info.

Thanks to the poor trade-in value, we decided to keep our LR3 rather than trade it in when our new LR4 arrived. I spent some time trying to "spruce up" our LR3 as well. Just did the "Forever Black" adventure yesterday. It's not perfect, but the faded gray molding now looks more black again. Still have some streaks after two coats, but I did not have the patience to apply a third coat. The hardest part was taping off around all the trim. Still got some black on the paint but rubbing alcohol removed it easily.

Nowhere to be found, yet you haven't tried a dealer yet?? I'd suggest starting there.

Easy :) I have several cars and I buy 99% online for convenience. Since that stuff appears to be dealer only, I'll go get gouged there :)
Now, about those reverse cameras, has anyone seem a clean install thread? I'd really like to do this myself...

@PaulLR3: Where in the Boston area are you and who is your electrical guy? I'm just north of Boston and have been using the dealership in NH where I bought my LR3 for all my repairs. But I would like to have back-ups and other options, especially once my warranty runs out.
Thanks.

The guy I mentioned only installs new electronics such as radar detectors, laser jammers, rear seat entertainment systems, remote starters, rear cameras, etc. He does not repair Land Rovers. I just had him install a Blinder laser jammer in our LR4. I will send you his info in a pm.

I'm in Duxbury, MA and have not found a good indy Land Rover mechanic yet. Tried one place for new rear brakes and it was a disaster. They did not put the brakes in service mode and destroyed the parking brake shoes. Still taking our vehicles to Land Rover Hanover. They do a great job and they should when paying dealer rates.
