I have read all the threads and replys about windshield leaks and I just don't understand this problem. My driveway is a steep incline and my LR3 is always parked facing up, yet my car gets soaked when it rains. water runs downhill, so why would it leak if it is parked uphill? I have had water running out of the light modules and airbag caps. My fefrosters are no longer working. Why has Land Rover not had a recall or fix on this problem? I just took mine into the shop this morning and I have only 4800 miles left on my warranty. Somehow we, as LR3 owners should have some some leverage in getting Land Rover to address this problem seriously. I love this vehicle, but this sure is a major problem. Just what can we do??

Water fills up the channels/drains then dumps into the vehicle. Your parking situation means there's only one way for that water to go. I think it's a fairly simple design flaw that LR3 dealers are not fixing properly upon request of the owner. Short of a class-action lawsuit, you're not going to get any group satisfaction. Just get yours fixed properly using the local lemon law as leverage. Document your visits and cc LRNA on those conversations.

rooty, has the dealer actually looked at your problem and attempted to fix this? If so, how many times?

...and is it from the windshield area or the A-pillar? The A-pillar could be from the sunroof drains, which is the common problem discussed on this board.

It is interesting how some have had this issue and some have not. I have kept a sharp eye out for this problem and (knock on wood) I have not seen it. I wonder if there are common behaviors or situations that make this issue occur besides the less-than-robust design? For example, people leaving the sunroof open for prolonged periods of time, parking under trees...things like that. Or maybe the incline of parking? ...or the kinds of rain you get. I live in Seattle, where it rains frequently, but it doesn't rain all that much...it's more of a constant sprinkle with occasional downpours. Plus, where are people parking? I park in a garage which I'm sure helps a great deal.

On the subject of getting it fixed, my dealer always seemed to take the stance of not wanting to fix anything unless there was a problem. I could report a problem anyway (even if I hadn't seen it) and they'd have to fix it; but then in the back of my mind I never wanted them digging around in places and causing issues when really there wasn't a problem. ...if it ain't broke don't fix it; but the leak-issue is one that I really don't want ! All that said, I wonder if I should ask them to fix it while I have 2000 miles left on my warranty or if I'm sort of "in the clear" if I've had the truck for 3 years/48k miles and haven't seen any sign of the (leak) issue.

Thoughs?
