I found a set in the Denver Craigslist a month ago, but based on advise here, chose to go all Yakima for more expandability.

get yakima's.... they crush the stock ones in usefullness, compatability, and ease of removal. the stock ones are a complete waste of money.

the yakimas snap right into the rails and i can put them on and off in literally less then 6 seconds.... as i do it all the time and when i goto the carwash...

Basically all u need to do is goto REI or even better AtlanticBritish.com (where they have a discounted complete set specifically for the LR3)

http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/CTK.cfm

Yakima Crossbar - Pair 48" 1 $64.95

Yakima Control Tower Set Of 4 1 $129.95

Yakima Landing Pad #4 - Pair 2 $59.90
Total Value: $254.80
Your Cost: $244.95
You Save: $9.85

Best part is you can buy accessories for surfing, snowboarding, biking, kayaking, locks...etc the list is like endless with the yakima set up.

If you go stock you're gonna end up looking for shoddy adapter sets when you actually try to attach things to the rack...

Absolutely, use Yakima! Also consider a fairing which reduces the air flow and buffering sound as you go down the road. I believe the spread is 44".
