Voyager Racks Ladder?

Hey everyone,

I just had a front skid plate installed - looks awesome! I did not go with the OEM one, but rather one from GN Vehicle Protection in the UK. They were awesome and I am very impressed with the quality. I just got it installed this morning, so will post pictures later. Here is the source:

I am also waiting on delivery for a Voyager half-rack from Voyager Racks, and they are installing a wind-flaire for me. My question is about the ladder... I can pick it up pretty cheap from them and have them ship with my rack, but I wanted to see if anyone has it?

Their website states that you do not need do any drilling? Anyone know how it affixes? Looks like it bolts to the rack?

I don't know? All I have seen in person is the LR4 front sump guard (skid plate) and it's VERY heavy duty... I was surprised at the quality difference between that and the one that Land Rover provides. Let me know, I have the guy's e-mail and you can discuss with him. He's very responsive to e-mails and helpful.

Finlayforprez, looks to me like it uses the upper tailgate edge to secure to the body. I'd look at the instructions of the oem LR ladder. I bet it's the same install = no drilling. Likes like a nice bit of kit and cheaper than the LR ladder. Also the LR ladder bulges up on top and this one does not looks better IMO.

I already bought those OEM running boards, but for some reason I started to doubt it... First I am not too happy with the way it looks, second there is a chance to bend it and damage the vehicle while offroading; and third - I want more of a tough look... And I got those OEMs pretty cheap...

Other folks on the forum might have stronger opinions about the rock sliders, but I am really impressed with the quality of this smaller company so far. Please e-mail Neil Dudman ([email protected]) as he is one of the owners and tell him "David West" (I got the LR4 skid/sump plate) sent you. Basically, he will let you know the total price (including shipping from the UK to the US) and you send via PayPal. They were VERY quick with the shipping and extremely responsive. The quality of my skid plate is awesome - significantly more rugged than the Land Rover version. I hope that helps!

As for the running boards, I thought about it, then decided against it. First of all, I don't need them and second of all they really do not work well when off-roading. I do not plan to do any major off-roading, but I can see how they would get crushed or ripped off very easily - even in moderate terrain. Like I said, I don't do much rock off-roading, so I will probably forego the rock sliders - but maybe just for looks - haha!

I'll definitely send pics later of the skid plate and then when I get the Voyager half-rack and ladder installed (hopefully next week). I think the only other thing I am considering is the back tailight guards - they look great in person.
