Towing concerns

I plan to use my 2006 LR3 LSE to tow a fairly light trailer (loaded with an 18' Bayliner and 125 Mercury).
My concern is overheating any of the drivetrain. Here in N TX, the temps reach 100+ in the summer when we want to use the boat. I plan on connecting a ScanGuage II to the OBDII to monitor. What sort of mods are recommended in addition to putting synthetic fluids in anything that a place to put it? :albertein

Some folks have added an external oil cooler to help with that. Less than hilly conditions will not be as tough on towing. You will note, your temperature gauge stays at the same level throughout the year in TX. The vehicles cooling system is able to maintain it. More importantly, depending on your mileage might be the hoses, potentially the radiator, and the actual coolant. I also run RP motor oil, filter, differential oil (30k) transfer case oil (60k). The transmission should have a fluid change every 60-70k. If you ever get an overheat warning on it, then the fluid should be changed immediately.

OK, are there any links to showing an install of an external tranny cooler?
Is any modification of the tranny itself warranted?
