Agreed...considering the profit for LR comes from service now instead of sales (because of the uninspired crap they now put out)- they’ll never improve the parts that fail- especially when it grenades the engine right after the CPO expires. The early 200 series Land Cruisers purportedly have water pump issues, too. But I gather Toyota got their **** together and the replacement part solves the issue.

I got a quote to 3D cad the part for $800 (for just the file). Then might have it cnc machined out of an aluminum block. I’m thinking I’ll check around to see if anyone else might be able to CAD it. Anyone on here have mad CAD skills? I’d be glad to set up a go fund me to crowdsource the design work- if we don’t get up to the cost of design, then you’d get your money back. Anyone who contributes, happy to share the CAD file.
MMaybe it’s time for a kickstarter to get committed money to chase this? The last I ran the numbers it’s going to climb up into the 10k+ range to design and cast this properly.
adamI'm an industrial designer and would be happy to volunteer my CAD skills for the cause. I work in Solidworks daily and also have access to SLA 3d printer to test fit the new part. The only thing I would need is the pipe for reference. It would be ideal to have a good one and a bad one so I could see where the failures occur and also have the ability to cut it up to get more precise measurements.
Let me know if your interested and if anyone has parts we can use.
Would love to get this problem solved, and develop solutions to keep these trucks on the for years to come!

That would be amazing. I’ll send you both a broken part and a new part. I don’t mind contributing a donor “good oem” part to the cause. Once we have a cad of it, I’ll get a couple manufacturing quotes and see if we can’t get a working prototype. Adam, dm me your address to ship to.
Avslash, you mind if I send the broken crossover to Adam first? I’ll see if I can’t get my independent to get another one for me to send your way.
Please do. I've got a line on a broken one nearby.
Honestly, if you guys have the capability to have them manufactured in some kind of quantity, that is likely the way to go.
With the resources I have, anything I come up with is going to be a completely custom fabbed piece, which I would think would result in the highest possible per unit cost for everyone.
