My LR3 is a 2007 and has 111370 miles on it. Seems that once it crossed the 100k mile threshold, it went rouge on me. My latest issue is that the dash display, (only what you can see through the steering wheel) will sporadically shut down. All needles drop down to 0. All indicators go blank, however outside lights, blinkers, brake lights continue to work. Then everything returns to normal. Any suggestions Any suggestions as to what this is?

loose connector at rear

My first guess is that the one and only connector from the instrument cluster cable has come loose and just has to be unplugged and plugged back in.

For some reason, the plug seems to lose tightness. Most often it shows as the temperature gauge needle not moving but all else works OK.

In your case, it seems all the needles have quit - that I think makes it more likely that it is the connector being loose.

What made the temperature gauge fault hard to find when just the temp gauge quit was that one tended to look at the temperature sensors on the engine plus the related wiring etc and then later for a defective gauge but never once thinking that it just could be the big connector on the back of the printed circuit board having become less tight than it should be.
