So most of you are going with the heavy duty armor. I can just picture your grinding over some rocks. ;-) I don't want to head down this road yet. I am mostly concerned about loose rocks flying up. Is there some lighter-weight and simple and less expensive protection I should plan for when mostly just driving gravel or National Forest roads? Is it "good enough" to just go with the stock undercarriage?

Yes I have not gotten anything from them as their prices are ridiculously high. That combined with shipping... I do like the rear and front arms guards tho.
Me too! There are a few pieces I would like, but overall there are a LOT of pieces. I guess this makes it easier to take apart - say compared with the T44 sliders/skids? I just kind of like having less things to bolt on and off.

I may be interested in some things here and there, but likely will be crazy. I know the sliders looks very pricey.

I would say you will be fine, the "stock" underbody protection (where it is provided) is not bad at all and small rocks/gravel shouldn't hurt anything. I would say just give it a good spray when you get home - especially around the brakes, etc.

I know some folks get mud flaps to prevent the small rocks/gravel from spraying up, but that's not always helpful in more off road situations.

I don't think there is anything really light weight, as far as armor, that would suit your purposes.

Update for those with T44 rock sliders.
Finally I had heavy duty rubber applied between rock sliders and a frame .
Good news is that all the creaking sound I had before is gone. I hope this will stay this way.
David, let us know how it worked for you.

Hey TLB,

I am so happy that the creaking sound appears to be gone with the application of the rubber. I have a couple rolls of good rubber with adhesive, so I plan to hopefully apply it next week.

Did you apply it to the entire surface or just a few key areas? if so, which ones? I have 2 rolls that are 1/4" thick, 1 foot wide, and about 5 feet long - I was going to just put it across the entire surface. Did you use LocTite on the bolts?

I will keep you posted if it gets rid of the creaking sounds. I hope so!

Since I had my truck for a service at my Land Rover dealership and asked them to put the rubber pieces between sliders and a frame. ( I posted a picture of these rubber strips earlier). They were supposed to call me before the install, but they just proceeded with it. I will have to call on Monday and check if Loctite was used. If not, the sliders will get lose over time and they will have to correct it. So far so good.
Do you have pictures of your transfer case skid plate installed?
The next step for me is going to be a sump guard and it looks like I will go with Asfir. ( I am going to powder coat it like Umberto did).
