Anyone coat front skid plates? Think it would just scratch off (sorry, i don't have the rod mods!)
What about sliders? They seem to come coated most of the time . . .

I wouldn't coat a front skid plate, polished metal looks better I think.
I have my front/rear bumpers powder coated along with the sliders, makes everything look great and yes, with time you can gouge off the coating.
Next week, I am removing my front bumper to have it sand blasted and powder coated again since after 8 years I have acquired a couple rust blisters.

Don't bother unless you want to touch it up all the time. I have to touch up the visible part of my sliders all the time.

Regardless of what you use start by using a product called chassis saver. It smells very strong. A watery product that when used really protects. Must be put on within two hours after sandblasting, primer and paint products go over it very nicely. I repaint underneath my chassis every year. First I try to remove any rust but this product works very well over rust as well! Bought it at a paint supply house. Ah yes chassis saver is the STUFF. If one nicks the powder coat chassis saver works great.(I hate powder coat)

I installed running boards 2 month ago, and I used 3M Undercoating to protect them from rusting. I don't know if you guys talking about similar thing, but i think this stuff should work good. especially after driving in the snow, a lot of it building under the boards.

Yup held up great at Rausch Creek PA and a few other outings. As discussed elsewhere, The sliders get much more use. I like the PC better than paint, although paint could be a closer color match.
