popping sound when I turn left

Guys,
I've been hearing a popping noise when I turn left but only when turned all the way. I am running tires slightly wider than stock, so, it could be that. I hope. I'm concerned it might be some part of the front suspension.

I would stop driving it cause you most likely have a left CV joint about to break.
How mechanical are you?

Could be CV joint or your bump stops are not out far enough depending on size of tires.

How many miles on your Disco?

Have you checked your grease in the Swivel?

about 165,000 miles on the truck. haven't checked the grease in the swivel pin. what am I looking for with that?

i'm fairly mechanical but i've never worked on the axles before at all. and all the little parts scare me. if there is a small circlip, washer, spacer, etc. to drop and lose, i will. if it is the cv joint i will probably have to take it to a shop.
