I've narrowed my choice to these 2 tires for my 19" wheels. Things that are most important to me:
1) Quiet ride on pavement
2) Long tread life
3) Decent in the snow

Which would you choose?

That's sort of like what my clients ask in our new construction projects. They want it 1) Cheaper, 2) Faster, 3) Better.

My answer is always the same, chose any two.

I have the hankooks. They were great in the snow, but they were only a couple of months old then are still quiet after 13k and look like I have another 10 left. I have never had the pirelli's

From experience, I'll pick 2 and say the ATRs are still very quiet and yes, you'll get lots of life out of them. Right now i have over 33k miles since Jan 09 and they wear nicely. Note, my driving 90% on road in SoFl. As for snow, I don't recall how they handle but check the tirerack review for reference.
