How concerned should I be that after 2 days of driving my brand new LR4 the vehicle shuttered and clunked as every possible warning light came on: reduced performance, transmission failure, stability control deactivated, etc and check engine light came on. Amazingly this happened just blocks away from the dealer and I was able to limp over and drop it off on a Sunday. On Monday they looked at it and said "good news" its just the cam sensor. Should I be concerned or is this just bad luck?

Sounds like bad luck for sure - although I believe I've read a few positing where this has happened to a few other owners but with much more miles on the clock. Sorry to hear you had such a jarring experience so soon in your ownership. :-(

How long had your LR4 been at the dealer prior to your purchase? Had it been driven regularly? Reason I ask is that LR3's and LR4's can throw all sorts of faults if the battery is too low. My LR3 lit up like a christmas tree as soon as the battery went low, dealer replaced the battery and never happened again.
